Uprooted Kitchen & Catering Co. flourished under the former name of Basket Case Picnics & Catering, operating across the Okanagan since July of 2011. In the early years we could be found firmly planted at 5 Farmers Markets per week with our distinctive mobile kitchen. The markets provided a natural platform for doing business with both producers and customers appreciative of our commitment to use as many local, organic, and hormone/antibiotic free products as possible in our creative, fresh and colorful cuisine! When not attending markets we collaborated with estate wineries that did not have on-site food services, providing a partnership approach that was designed to enrich both the winery and client experience, by providing gourmet picnics and fresh stone-fired flatbreads. Relaunched in May of 2019, our new name, Uprooted Kitchen & Catering Co., speaks to both our inspiration and ethos. As an on the grow and go caterer, with menus that are, quite literally, cultivated from the ground up, we decided to rebrand and ‘uproot’ our image to better suit how our business has evolved!
